When collaborating, my approach begins with observing your meetings and engaging with individuals within the organisation to grasp the challenges and their underlying causes better.
With a comprehensive understanding, I can then propose specific actions to transform your meetings—making them less draining and unproductive, and ensuring they progress meaningfully for their intended purpose and the participants.
Pre-meeting with the team leader to gain a better understanding of some challenges and establish clear expectations. Why does the team want to improve its meetings? What do they hope to achieve? Who owns the process? What is the desired outcome? How can we measure the impact?
Based on the discussions at the pre-meeting, I will design a process for my assessment that aligns with the expectations and desired outcomes. The process will always involve the observation of meetings. It might also include one-on-one interviews and focus groups, as well as surveys if they make sense for the assessment
I’ll deliver a written assessment that includes concrete and actionable suggestions on how you can improve your meetings and meeting culture.
The recommendations aim to provide tangible steps that can be implemented to create more effective and engaging sessions for your team.
Based on the suggested improvements, I’ll help implement them. This could involve anything from updating templates, introducing new meeting design approaches, and promoting effective communication. I can also assist in motivating your team towards behavioral changes and provide training for facilitators.
We’ll always meet for a follow-up dialogue to talk about the effect, impact, and learnings of the process.
